We began our day in Egypt with with prayers and got in our coach and proceeded to the ionic place that finds itself on the bucket list for many world travelers, “the Pyramids of Giza, the Great Sphinx, which is the biggest draws in all of Egypt.”
The pyramids are on the edge of downtown Giza, a city on the east bank of the Nile. After the security check we entered the complex. There are three big pyramids in line. I climbed the first few levels and touched the stones it was truly an experience. The Great Pyramid alone is made up of many individual stones. It was the tallest building on the planet, and it remained so until the construction of the Eiffel Tower in Paris.
We later proceeded to The Great Sphinx of Giza which is commonly refereed to as the Sphinx of Giza or just the Sphinx, limestone statue of a reclining sphinx, a mythical creature with the body of a lion and the head of a human. We did not manage stepping of the bus and clicking much pictures as we were to visit the perfume factory and had to proceed to the airport to board a flight.
A friendly advise when you visit the Pyramid kindly be vigilant and extra careful as the place is very crowded and you would find many hawkers and touts. Our guide Mr. Mohammed and Mr. Noor were kind enough to be around to keep us away from all.
The perfume factory was located a couple of minutes away from the Great pyramid. It has a wide range of perfumes many of which had medicinal value and I could not stop myself from buying some for myself.
We did not realize how quick the time passed by and it was soon time for us to leave and proceed to the airport thus ended my and check-marked one placed from my bucket list.
Another destination high on my bucket list….. Looks amazing. 🙂

Thank you Adam for stopping by and appreciating my work. Your country is very rich in history. I loved my visit to Mount Sinai and Egypt, so much to see and learn about ancient history..

Mount Sinai is beauty, also if you are into ancient history, you must see Luxor & Aswan in south of Egypt, there is a Nile cruise from there where it takes you 5000bc back.
A fact: Luxor & Aswan contains 1/3 of the monuments of the entire planet!

Thanks a lot Adam for giving me an insight to the places. I would probably plan it in near future. My itinerary only comprised it two places.

My boyfriend and I just watched the Dreamworks animated film Prince of Egypt (which I’ve seen many times), but it was his first time watching and he was amazed at the architecture they could make back then. Your photos are truly breathtaking, and I hope one day I can see these sites with my own eyes!

That’s awesome that they let you climb them and touch them. There is a pyramid in Mexico and they don’t allow anyone close to it.

That could be cause of the conservation purpose. In a away it’s good reason being it remains nearly as it is as there is no scribing and abusing of the place. But touching and feeling it’s an experience by itself.

According to our tour guide it was because someone fell and tried to sue. People are too sue happy nowadays.
